Album Analysis coming after we calm down.
It’s D1 to LOVE AND FALL Album debut and YG has dropped the final MV Teaser in which Bobby tells us “I Love You” while annihilating us with premium Boyfriend visuals!
You would think we would be tired by now of speaking on how adorable, fluffy, cute and gorgeous Kim Bobby has been in these teasers leading up to his album release or how ear-wormy the track excerpts are – but NOPE!
If you ever wanted to imagine what a date with iKON’s Bobby as a boyfriend would be like, this would probably be the MV for you!
It’s such a refreshing switch to see a side of Bobby we’ve only ever caught behind the scenes suddenly taking the spot light that we cannot quite get over it.
Soft Bobby the fluffy bunny with deep and earnest lyrics but still riding that beat masterfully – it’s a Kim Jiwon fans never knew if they would be lucky enough to see.
AND WE LOVE THAT HE’S SINGING! We’ve always loved his husky tones that complimented tracks like “Airplane” and “Just Go” and to have an album from champion rapper Bobby where he’s mostly singing is a GIFT!
So back to the Teaser: for the title track “I Love You” we see Bobby playing alone under the deep blue sky of a California beach, bouncing on beds, diving in a backyard pool and laying back on the hood of a pretty, blue Mustang all to a trendy tropical house beat.
The sound is light and even playful. His smile and glances are warm and intimate and the vibe is very chill.
It’s surprising when you find out that the song is really a sad one about the end of a long term romance.
iKONICs are familiar with this kind of twist that iKON members seem fond of from songs like “Love Me” and “Welcome Back” and are strongly anticipating the full song and lyrics that will finally reveal the story of “I Love You”
Meanwhile the live countdown to Bobby’s album drop begins tomorrow at 4pm KST on VApp!
Thank you to all the many fan sites and platforms who were able on such short notice to pull together various promotional Projects, Guides for iKONICs and Support!
Let’s all do our best and support Bobby’s hard work as much as we can!
Watch the Teaser below!
We apologise that this is late but we had a LOT of thoughts!
Earlier today the Video Teaser for “Runaway,” the second title track on Kim Bobby’s first solo album “Love and Fall” was released by YGE making an emotional mess out of all of us.
We knew this album was going to be an intimate look at not so much Bobby the stage eating monster rapper but at Kim Jiwon the artist behind him ~ knowing and seeing, however, are two different things.
From the Teaser’s opening with a Biblical verse, essentially a cry for help that is also a reflection of Bobby’s deeply spiritual side, you realize immediately that we are getting access to a Bobby we’ve only seen glimpses of from behind the scenes.
From Bobby perched high on an overpass in his adopted hometown of Fairfax, VA, a pair of sneakers dangling beside him which we later see engulfed in flames – to Bobby running in slow motion through an overlapping image of himself and cars with lighted headlights literally rain down above him – The Runaway teaser packs an emotional as well as visually stunning wallop for something that’s just 32 seconds long.
Strong images of alienation, solitude and even desperation followed by the refrain of wanting to run away in Bobby’s soulful, raspy vocal accompanied by simple guitar chords leaves you with a melancholic feeling and a desire for more that is perfect for the incoming colder seasons.
It had a big impact on our team and as can be imagined it has had a big impact on fans.
In a Naver article Bobby is quoted for saying:
Anyone can relate to the story of Runaway. I don’t think there is anyone who has not felt at some point overwhelmed by life’s responsibilities and wanted to get away from it all even if it’s just for a little bit.
Anyone who knows Bobby’s journey from a lonely 14 yr old who came to Korea on his own to pursue his dreams and save his family from financial struggle – anyone who has watched his fights, his failures, his victories and his continuing struggle can understand why Bobby would sometimes want to run away.
It’s not even his first time writing about how hopeless the quest and heavy the burden is of the path he chose.
In the end Bobby didn’t run away. He hung in there and battled and thanks to that we get to see the man he is becoming today and we will soon hear his heart.
He’s going to make us all cry and I cannot wait.
The ball is already officially rolling on the arrival of Love and Fall as today Bobby sat in with members of the Press for a Listening Party!
We’re already seeing and hearing good things XD
Finally on D-Day lucky fans will get to join the audience for the V-Live Countdown happening with Bobby!
Foreign Friends in foreign lands are not as lucky but let’s all tune in for the VApp Countdown Live on Sept 14th at 6pm KST and give Jiwon all our love!
We know he deserves it!
Following the release of teaser images for the 2nd Title Track of Bobby’s 1st Solo Album, “Love and Fall,” YGE has also dropped a Press Release giving us information about the track.
The combination of Bobby’s pleasingly raspy vocal color with guitar tones has always been pleasurable and this information has further ramped up our curiousity, excitement and anticipation!
YG Entertainment released the posters for Kim Bobby’s 2nd title track, “Runaway” and it hit us right in the feels!
Two days ago YGE dropped the teaser posters for the 1st title track from Bobby’s 1st Solo Album, “Love and Fall.” At that time iKONICs and the Kpop community in general were taken by surprise by the teaser’s soft imagery and the title of the song, “I Love You.”
Today’s posters shows imagery of Bobby on a beach with ruffled hair and casual clothes, his face in sharp profile against a moody sky. They are probably some of the most aesthetically pleasing posters YGE has ever released in relation to iKON and iKONICs are thrilled!
Even more importantly, this second teaser along with the first one and the album name are further indications that we are going to be seeing a more personal and emotional side of Bobby, whose real name is Jiwon, in this album.
Before now Bobby has been strongly associated with his fierce and charismatic stage presence, incredible performance energy and high tension, hard hitting rap style.
True Bobby fans, however, have always been aware that the rapper fondly known as a Bunny within the fandom is as squishy inside as his beloved Winnie the Pooh bear!
Kim Bobby Jiwon is actually a talented and incredibly versatile rapper as well as a vocalist with an addictive vocal color and a player of multiple instruments. Though he is known more for his fiercer raps, his more emotional bars have given us some of his most unforgettable work.
Below are some threads worth exploring to find out more about Bobby’s Rap:
We are on D7 of the countdown to the release of “Love and Fall.” Don’t forget to participate in a Bobby Project!!

Let’s look forward to a glimpse into the heart of our Jiwonnie.
iKON have topped Japan’s Oricon Weekly Album’s Chart for the third consecutive time!
After proving their overwhelming international popularity by ranking #1 in Oricon charts first with their debut album “Welcome Back,” then with their consecutive Japanese release, the single album “DUMB&DUMBER,” – iKON hit no 1 again with their new mini album “New Kids: Begin” managing to officially establish a chart topping streak in the 2nd biggest music market in the world!
No wonder they were Japan’s 2016 Rookies of the Year!
The new mini album achieved first place in the weekly chart on August 22nd. Ever since its release on the 16th, the album has received plenty of love topping various charts and selling out of stores quickly.
After wrapping up their Korean promotions with double title-track “B-Day” and “Bling Bling”, iKON is set to continue touring in Japan with 22 concerts. Their Dome Tour is scheduled to begin in September.
Congratulations to iKON’s on their continuing amazing achievements!
iKON recently cameback with a new mini album in Japan titled, New Kids: Begin on August 16, 2017. This is the Japanese edition of their single album that came out in Korea in May 22 with additional two new Japan exclusive songs, Perfect and World Wide.
Not only do the Japanese get two brand new, heartbreaking beautiful and party anthem IMO, songs, but the promotion YGEX, YGE’s Japan division, has rolled out for iKON is a pleasant as well as welcome shock for iKONICs who have been waiting for iKON’s Japan comeback, and new songs, for a few months now.
iKON’s name and the images of the members were emblazoned along mighty LED sided trucks while the Japanese versions of the New Kids MVs were continuously played on giant LED screens high above the city’s bustling centre from towering department stores.
On release day, music stores seemed to compete with tagging YGEX on social media with their iKON display, as if each was trying to outdo the other with how big their displays were as well as the amount of posters plastered around their stores.
As if all this wasn’t exciting enough, Japanese TV show Nico Nico sent MC Furuya Masayuki with a crew all the way to South Korea for a live coverage with iKON for the New Kids: Begin Japan official release!

Thousands of fans were able to tune in and watch a retrospective of iKON’s MVs up to the current Bling Bling and Bday ones as well as a casual interview with the boys, all in Japanese, and a creative phot opp session! Shortly after, the mini album was released with the following track list:
iKONICs were finally able to hear Perfect and Worldwide, which have been teased some weeks before. The new songs did not disappoint! Worldwide is a compulsive head bopper with a lively, retro hip hop beat that fits very well in the J-pop industry, while Perfect is a soulful R&B ballad which truly showcased iKON’s beautiful vocals and just how much of a force to reckon with iKON’s vocal line has become.
The CDs have literally been flying off the shelves as quickly as they are stocked and iKON has already climbed to number 1 on Tower Music charts.

Along with their number 1 in Tower Records, iKON just achieved two other number ones, in Japan iTune’s Kpop chart as well as on Oricon
Fans have felt truly gratified to see Japan welcome iKON back so warmly.
