On Dec 23, a mere week till the formerly confirmed date of Dec 31st for the release of iKON’s New Kids Series Repackaged album, YGE has announced a reschedule.
YGE has cited “distribution” problems and apparently the date is being pushed to “around early January” with an official timeline to be announced at the oh too familiar timing of “soon.”
YG himself posted this information on his personal Instagram along with a screen shot of the album cover and, possibly because there is no material prepared to promote the album, a scanned page from iKON’s recent Arena Homme editorial.
iKONICs have expressed disappointment but have as a whole pronounced themselves far from surprised for the following reasons:
1. No pre-sale or even any details at all have been made available since the announcement 2 months ago till now almost a week to the original release date.
2. This is a repeat offence for YGE who even had to reschedule and delay iKON’s debut album.
3. This is YGE. They kind of have a reputation.
iKONICs have decided to turn their disappointment into proactivity by working on streaming iKON videos, “Killing Me” in particular and voting for iKON on end of year awards.
In the absence of information before now iKONICs have also entertained themselves with what we can now consider a tradition of making fan made promotional material to help drum up awareness for iKON’s incoming work during their company’s habitual delays in giving them adequate publicity. Some have even updated their material to reflect the recent news!
iKON meanwhile were booked and busy marking a 2nd date Dome performance at Japan’s Kyrocera today that was reportedly well attended. The busy boys have already flown back to Korea presumably for the SBS Gayo Daejun to take place on the 25th.
iKON will also be appearing at the V HEARTBEAT Year End Party 2018 in Vietnam on the 28th. Let’s keep supporting our best boys all the way!
iKON had a successful comeback yesterday with the release of the Goodbye Road MV and New Kids: The Final mini album at 6PM KST.
(Don’t forget to stream the MV! Our goal is 6M views in 24 hours.)
As for Korea, Goodbye Road debuted comfortably in top #21 of all major charts, raising quickly and steadily every hour until the charts froze at 1AM, achieving #4 on Naver and #1 on all other charts, getting incredibly close to scoring a Realtime All Kill.

With the strike of midnight in Korea iKON’s final D-day poster was released announcing that in less than 18 hours iKON will release their new mini album New Kids: the Final thus concluding the New Kids series.
It is more than fitting that iKON is concluding their New Kids series looking all grown up and mature.
This is iKON’s third comeback this year which is not unusual for kpop but it is more than unusual for YGE. After going through drought years this is the year of plenty for both iKON and iKONICS.
Let’s work hard and enjoy this comeback with iKON!!!
It’s D-3 to comeback day, and iKON has released the schedule for the VLive countdown for Goodbye Road on October 1st at 5AM KST, an hour before the official release of New Kids: The Final.
The Final is already up for pre-order, check out all the details here.
You can already head to the VLive video and start tapping hearts!

iKON released their second lyric narration video for their title song Goodbye Road. Video features Hanbin and June reciting lyrics at what looks an abandoned industrial dock or a shipyard. Video can be viewed on iKON’s YouTube account (English subtitles are not yet available).
However you can enjoy lyrics translation provided by iKONICS.
On the heels of the track list release for the New Kids: the Final mini album, iKON released the first lyric narration video for Goodbye Road featuring Jinhwan and Donghyuk looking pensive and gorgeous. We can look forward to videos of other members revealing more about the song.
You can enjoy the video with English subtitles on iKON YouTube Chanel.
Jinhwan: “If you’re going to leave anyway, live the best possible life with no regrets. Leave me and live happily.”
Donghyuk: “Everyone goes through a break up so let’s not be too sad. I’ll try to find someone that is alike but not quite similar to you.”
Looking at lyrics it seems that non-toxic breakup songs are becoming iKON’s signature. Love comes to an end but there is no blaming of the person that left, accepting the end of love as part of life and growing up. A healthy message for sure.
This is the third comeback for iKON in 2018 but it is already a standout by the quality and timeliness of its teasers. iKON is present in the media and on variety shows prior to the release itself and not 10 days to two weeks after its release (if at all) , which was the usual practice before. One has to be blind not to notice the difference in the approach to iKON promotions and the quality of the same. We do not know what happened to bring about this change but we sure welcome it.
A wistful poster for the title song for iKON’s upcoming mini album New Kids: the Final was released today. Title Goodbye Road was written by Hanbin and Bobby and composed by Hanbin, Future Bounce and Bekuh Boom and arranged by Future Bounce.
It is said to be the song that competed with Love Scenario for the title last winter and is a favorite song of YGE founder Yang Hyun Suk.
iKONICS are eagerly anticipating to see what other songs will be released on this mini album.
While waiting for another teaser to drop don’t forget to up-vote and comment on Naver article for Goodbye Road.
Official Twitter and Instagram accounts posted a comeback poster on September 11th at 10AM KST, announcing a new mini album called New Kids: The Final to be released on October 1st.
This would mark iKON’s fourth release in 2018, something unheard of, starting off in January with the full album New Kids: Return, followed by the single Rubber Band in March, and, lastly, the mini album New Kids: Continue last August.

iKON just had their debut stages for this comeback on Music Core. They performed their heavily punkrock influenced sub title tract Freedom witch contained cute homages to dances from other YG groups. Can you spot those?
What followed is the awaited performance of iKON’s latest title track Killing Me. As always iKON vowed both fans and non fans alike with their amazing performance ability.
Day before highly anticipated iKON’s comeback YGE released stunning moving individual teasers of each member thus ramping up the excitement for tomorrow even more.
